Growth form Epiphyte, up to 50 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem elongated, much-branched, in cross section elliptic, branches patent or widely patent, internode at base slightly attenuate, 1.9 cm long, 0.2 cm wide, upper one smaller, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf lanceolate-linear, patent, carnose, gradually narrowed towards the apex, margin irregular, especially in apical part irregularly crenulate, above on either side of the longitudinal groove convex, underneath almost flat; apex strongly unequal 2-lobes, both lobes acute; base half-twisted, shortly contracted; lamina 2.75-5.75 cm long, 0.5-0.75 cm wide; sheath tubular, longer than internodes, strongly transversely warty; apex with tooth, tooth warty, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, 6-flowered, capitate, 1.4 cm in diameter, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe broadly ovate-triangular, apical part with incurved margins, apex subulate-acuminate, strongly concave, 9-nerved, membranous, 1.1 cm long, 1.3 cm wide; floral bracts broadly ovate-triangular, shortly acute, apiculate, concave, 5-nerved, thinly membranous, 0.9 cm long, 1 cm wide. Flowers upright, glabrous, 1.1 cm long, sepals and petals in basal part parallel, divergent. Median sepal lanceolate, apex subacute, concave, 3-nerved, base shortly adnate to the lateral sepals, 1 cm long, 0.33 cm wide. Lateral sepals in front up to the middle fused, clasping the spur of the lip, obliquely oblong, slightly falcate, narrowed towards the apex, narrowly obtuse, apical margin incurved, apex subulate-apiculate, 5-nerved, 1.1 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, free part 0.5 cm long; mentum short, saccate, pointing backwards, appressed to and distinctly shorter than the ovary, seen from the front subquadrangular, dorsally compressed, in front convex, dorsally hollowed out, truncate, slightly retuse, 0.17 cm long. Petal oblong-ligulate, apex obtuse, concave, 3-nerved, 0.93 cm long, 0.28 cm wide. Lip shortly adnate to the column, porrect, 5-angular-obovate, in total 0.48 cm, to the apex of the ovary 0.3 cm long; epichile recurved, convex, broadly obtuse, with small inconspicuous, longitudinal rib; hypochile concave, slightly contracted, abruptly transversely thickened, carnose, 7-nerved, 0.3 cm long, 0.27 cm wide, spurred; spur appressed to the ovary, making obtuse angle with the lip, slightly recurved, in front convex, dorsally concave, oblong-sub-cylindrical, apex broadly obtuse, dorsally to the apex of the ovary 0.2 cm long, in front of the base of the blade 0.3 cm long. Column basal part dorsally obtusely angled convex, 0.2 cm long, apex triangular, obtuse, sparsely denticulate; clinandrium large, hollowed out; stelidia obliquely triangular, obtuse, with upper margin denticulate, little shorter than the apex. Anther cucullate, orbicular, 0.13 cm wide, apex rounded, with hyaline and not recurved margins, connective conical-gibbose; rostellum porrect, broadly retuse, rounded-2lobes; stigma 2-lipped; pollinia 4, pear-shaped, outside convex, inside flat with a longitudinal concavity; stigma transversely elliptic-cup-shaped, with margin the lower extended and incurved; viscidium not seen. Ovary sessile, 6-grooved, 0.3 cm long Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Indonesia.
Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1800 m. Flowering in May and July in the wild.
Notes - 1. Flowers white with red color on the tip of the lip.
2. The epithet jabiensis refers to the location where the specimen was collected: mount Jabi.
