Growth form Epiphyte, erect or patent, up to 40 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous. Stem rigid, laterally compressed, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths, internodes 0.4-2.1 cm long. Leaf linear, carnose, glabrous, dorsally keeled; apex acute, sharply and rigidly pointed; base shortly petiolate-attenuate; lamina 1.5-2 cm long, 0.2-0.25 cm wide; sheath tubular, sparsely warty; apex with tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, several-flowered, nodding, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe not seen; floral bracts minute. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal elliptic, apex acute, apiculate, 0.7 cm long, 0.4 cm wide. Lateral sepals oblique, base connate in basal fourth, apex acute, apiculate, 0.57 cm long, 0.35 cm wide. Petal suborbicular, apex broadly obtuse, base cuneate-sub unguiculate, 0.65 cm long, 0.40 cm wide. Lip suborbicular-quadrate, 0.25 cm long, 0.25 cm wide; epichile broadly obtuse; hypochile spurred; spur broadly obtuse, 0.25 cm long, 0.25 cm wide. Column 0.12 cm long; clinandrium  3-lobulate, median lobe large, sub dentate, lateral lobe small, unequally bidentate; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Mt. Kaiser Wilhelmsland. Altitude 2400 m. Flowering season not known.

Notes -  1. Flower colors not known.

2. The epithet  acicularis  refers to the sharply pointed apex of the leaves (aci means sharp, and cularis means pointed in Latin).
