Growth form Epiphyte. Rhizome very short. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous. Stem elongated, pendulous, apex ascending, branches patent, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths, internodes 1.9 cm long. Leaf sublinear, patent, gradually narrowed towards apex, with irregular margin, longitudinally grooved above, carnose, coriaceous; apex strongly obliquely narrowly obtuse, slightly 2-lobed; lamina 8 cm long, 0.6 cm wide; sheath tight, tubular, warty except at the base, longer than internodes; apex toothed, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, many-flowered, capitate, nodding, when dried 1.8 cm in diameter, rachis 0.6 cm long when dried, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe orbicular-ovate, concave, apex abruptly long acuminate, 1.5 cm long; floral bracts thin, transparent, ovate, gradually narrowed towards the apex, concave, 3-nerved, membranous, apex acute, 1.4 cm long, 0.7 cm wide. Flowers upright, glabrous, 0.9 cm long, sepals parallel, at apex recurved. Median sepal oblong, subobovate, concave, 3-nerved at base, apex obtuse, apiculate, 0.8 cm long, 0.36 cm wide. Lateral sepals in front connate up to four fifth of their length, obliquely oblong, concave, 3-nerved at base, apex shortly narrowed, acuminate, subulate, recurved apiculum, 0.8 cm long, whole synsepal 0.6 cm wide; mentum very short, pointing backwards, appressed to the ovary, obtusely bilobulate. Petal obliquely oblong, 3-nerved, apex obtuse, slightly contracted, 0.8 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Lip base shortly adnate to the column, porrect, broadly elliptic-oblong, slightly contracted at base, in total 0.4 cm long, to the apex of the ovary 0.33 cm long; epichile broadly obtuse; hypochile with thickened cross ridge, to the cross ridge 0.26 cm long, 0.2 cm wide, spurred; spur saccate, making an acute angle with the ovary and an obtuse angle with the blade, elliptic, apex rounded, 0.2 cm long. Column dorsally convex, 0.18 cm long; clinandrium broad, triangular, obtuse; stelidia triangular, acute. Anther cucullate, suborbicular, base bilobed, at apex with hyaline margin, retuse, slightly recurved, dorsally gibbose, 0.1 cm long; rostellum truncate-semi-orbicular; stigma lower margin extended, rounded, concave; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindrical, 6-ribbed, 0.55 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution - Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1800 m. Flowering in June in the wild.

Notes - 1. Flowers white with red lip.

2. The epithet  longicaulis refers to the long stem of the species (longi- means long and –cauli means stem or stalk in Latin).
