Growth form Epiphyte, shrub-like, low, erect, up to 30 cm high, branched at base. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem branched, thinly cylindrical, proliferously leafed, entirely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf linear, erect-patent or suberect, carnose; apex shortly attenuate, rather obtuse; base cuneate; lamina three times as long as the sheaths; sheath tight clasping, striate, finely warty; apex toothed, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe cucullate-elliptic, apiculate, glabrous; floral bracts transparent, thin. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal oblong, 1 cm long, subacute. Lateral sepals oblique, sub apiculate, base concave. Petal oblong-spathulate, 1 cm long, oblique. Lip elliptic, 0.35 cm long, decurved; epichile obtuse; hypochile spurred; conical, 0.3 cm long, obtuse, shortly protruding from between the bases of the sepals. Column half as long as the lip blade; clinandrium dorsally widened, triangular, obtuse, sub dentate. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; pollinia not seen ; stigma  not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindric, sessile, 0.8 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500 m. Flowering season not known.

Notes - 1. Flowers white with grey-green papillae on the tip of the lip.

2. The epithet ledermannii refers to the collector of the holotype: Carl Ludwig Ledermann.
