Growth form Epiphyte, up to 10 cm long. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous Stem thin, branched, cylindric, completely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf patent, lanceolate, narrowed toward the apex; apex conduplicate, subacute; base contracted into short petiole; lamina 0.7-1.3 cm long, 0.2 cm wide; sheath tubular, densely warty; apex without tooth, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, erect, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe tubular, membranous, oblong, warty, with brown dots, 0.9 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, apex obtuse, base 2/3 enveloping the ovary; floral bracts oblong, 0.85 cm long, apex apiculate Flowers upright, widely opening, 1.8 cm across. Median sepal lanceolate, strongly convex, 3-nerved, 0.87 cm long, 0.24 cm wide; apex obtuse, apiculate, recurved. Lateral sepals obliquely lanceolate, strongly convex, 3-nerved, slightly recurved at apex, 1 cm long, 0.25 cm wide; apex obtuse, apiculate; base obliquely triangular, obtuse, concave, widely patent, shortly connate. Petal obliquely lanceolate, strongly convex, 3-nerved, 0.84 cm long, 0.26 cm wide; apex obtuse; base erect, widely patent. Lip funnel-shaped-cucullate, broadly cuneate, transversely rhombic, 3-lobed, 0.44 cm long, 0.58 cm wide; epichile lateral lobe incurved, apices overlapping, rounded triangular, midlobe smaller, recurved, triangular, obtuse; hypochile spurred; spur thin, obtuse, 1 cm long. Column obtusely angled-curved, basal half adnate to the lip, apex obtuse, retuse; clinandrium concave, entire. Anther cucullate, ovate-orbicular, 0.13 cm wide, apex recurved, retuse, connective slightly conical, at the back sulcate; rostellum porrect, semi-orbiculat, triangular-notched; stigma crescent-shaped, lower margin strongly elongated, recurved; pollinia 4, 2 obovoid, 2 pear-shaped; viscidium absent. Ovary cylindric, clavate, 6-ribbed, sparsely punctate, 1.75 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Indonesia.
Habitat and Ecology – Epiphyte in upper montane forest. Altitude 2100 m. Flowering in December in the wild.
Notes - 1. Flowers light reddish brown.
2. The epithet angiensis refers to the Angi lakes in the Arfak mountains of Papua where the type specimen was collected.
