Growth form Epiphytic, pendulous, branched, up to 40 cm high. Rhizome ca. 1-2 mm in diameter. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem cylindrical, glabrous, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths, internodes 0.8-1.8 cm long. Leaf linear, erect-patent, sub-coriaceous, glabrous, widened at base, or slightly elliptic-linear, midrib shallowly grooved to prominent above, prominent below, lateral nerves 2-5 on either side of midrib, shallowly grooved or flat above, prominent below, margin membranous, often wavy, irregularly scattered papillate mainly in apical half but sometimes also in lower half; apex unequal 2-lobed, shorter lobes acute, longer lobes obtuse; base petiole-like narrowed, slightly twisted; lamina 1.5-4.5 cm long, 0.2-0.5 cm wide; sheath tubular, tight, many-ribbed, warty mainly on the ribs, 0.8-2.2 cm long; apex toothed, with bristled margin, bristles 0.1-0.3 cm long. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe oblong-obovoid, scattered warty, 5-7-nerved,  apex acute, apiculate, 1.7 cm long, 0.4-1.15 cm wide; floral bracts transparent, thin, oblong-obovoid, 1-nerved, apex acute, apiculate, less warty than spathe. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal broadly oblong-ovate, few papillae on outside at tip only, 5-nerved at base, up to 9-nerved in higher parts, apex rounded, conoid-apiculate, 1.5 cm long, 0.5-0.52 cm wide. Lateral sepals not enclosing the spur, free, obliquely oblong-ovate or elliptic-ovate, falcate, 5-nerved, apex obtuse, base oblong ovate auriculate, 1.4-1.55 cm long, 0.45-0.5 cm wide. Petal oblong-ovate, with a few papillae on the outside near the apex, 5-nerved at base, up to 7-nerved in higher parts, apex obtuse, 1.2-1.5 cm long, 0.45-0.5 cm wide. Lip adnate to the base of the column, free part cordate, glabrous, 3-lobed, 7-nerved, 0.7-0.75 cm long, 0.7-0.76 cm wide; epichile obtuse, midrib crested above and crest slightly widened towards tip, grooved on underside; hypochile spurred; spur clavate, 1.4 cm long, apex 2-lobed, slightly flattened. Column curved, 0.25-0.3 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; clinandrium 3-lobed, each lobe 2 or 3-lobulate; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; pollinia not seen; stigma  not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary obovoid-clavate, 1.7-2 cm long, 0.7 cm wide, 3-ribbed. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in upper montane forest of Mt. Michael. Altitude 3100 m. Flowering season not known.

Notes -  1. Flowers green.

2. The epithet chlorantha refers to the green flowers of the species (chlora- means green and –antha means flower in Latin).
