Glomera geminata Ormerod, Malesian Orchid J. 16:60(2015) –Type: L.J. Brass 11885 (holotype AMES, isotype BRI)

 

Growth form Epiphyte. Rhizome not seen. Roots cylindrical, 0.02-0.06 cm thick. Stem cylindrical, slender, usually simple, rarely branched, subdensely 4-15 leaved, occasionaly rooting from nodes, 4-6.5 cm long, 0.03-0.12 cm wide, internodes 0.15-0.45 cm long. Leaf oblong-lanceolate to oblong, thinly leathery, patent; apex unequal 2-lobe, both lobes obtuse; lamina 0.35-0.8 cm long, 0.15-0.32 cm wide; sheath tubular, truncate, transversely warty; apex with tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, 2-flowered, 0.7 by 0.4-0.5 cm, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe elliptic-suborbicular, cupulate, 0.5 cm long, 0.4 cm wide, apex subacute; floral bracts not seen. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal ovate-elliptic, lower margins joined to lateral sepals for 0.15 cm, 0.49 cm long, 0.26 cm wide, minutely thickened near apex, apex obtuse, 3-nerved. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-elliptic, 3-nerved, 0.6 cm long, 0.25 cm wide, apex subacute, base form synsepalum formed trapeziform, 0.6 cm long, 0.5 cm wide with deeply retuse top (free parts 0.3 cm long) that forms a 0.22 cm long conical enclosure over the spur. Petal oblong-rhombic to oblong-oblanceolate, 0.48 cm long, 0.19 cm wide, apex subacute to obtuse, 1-2-nerved. Lip entire, widely ovate, 0.1 cm long, 0.19 cm wide, midnerved thickened near apex, 7-nerved; epichile subacute; hypochile spurred; spur oblongoid, 0.2 cm long, 0.1 cm wide, apex obtuse. Column 0.16 cm long, with column foot; clinandrium  lanceolate, apex acute; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindrical, 0.35 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Indonesia

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Bernhard Camp, Idenburg River. Altitude 1800 m. Flowering time January in the wild.
