Growth form Epiphyte or terrestrial, clump forming, up to 50 cm high. Rhizome ca. 3-4 mm in diameter. Root filiform, elongated, flexible, glabrous. Stem cylindric at base, flattened towards apex, 29-36.5 cm long, 0.2-0.5 cm wide, laxly 4-8-leaved or more, internodes 0.9-2 cm long. Leaf oblong; apex subequally, obtusely bilobed; base subpetiolate; lamina 3-6.5 cm long, 0.9-1.3 cm wide; sheath obcuneate, scattered warty, many-ribbed, 1.1-2.3 cm long, 0..4-0.7 cm wide; apex without tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, multi-flowered, capitate, subglobose, ca. 1.5 cm wide, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe ovate-elliptic, apex acute, ca. 2 cm long, 1.2 cm wide; floral bracts  not seen. Flower upside-down. Median sepal broadly elliptic, apex shortly acuminate, 5-nerved, 4-4.5 mm long, 3-3.5 mm wide. Lateral sepal elliptic-quadrate, 5-nerved, apex shortly acuminate, base connate to the back of the spur, 5 mm long, 3.5 mm wide. Petals obovate-elliptic, apex shortly and obtusely apiculate, 4.5 mm long, 3 mm wide. Lip obovate, carnose, 2 mm long, 2 mm wide; epichile obtuse; hypochile  spurred; spur subglobose, 2 mm long. Column glabrous, 1.6 mm long;  clinandrium not seen. Anther not seen. Ovary cylindric, glabrous, 5-7 mm long, 6-ribbed. Capsule not seen.                                                                                                                           

Distribution – Indonesia, PNG.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in lower montane forest.. Altitude 1220-2200 m. Flowering in November in the wild.

Notes - 1. Flowers white, labellum green with dark green ornamentation on the tip of the lip. Leaves light to dark glossy green.

2. The epithet pseudomonanthos refers to the vegetative habit that resemples that of certain species of Dendrobium in sect. Biloba J.J.Sm. (formerly sect. Monanthos Schltr.) that carry a single (mono inGreek flower (anthos in Greek).

4. This species is characterized by the flattened stems and leaf sheaths, oblong leaves and white flowers with a green lip and darker apex. 5. Specimen observed: K000810795.
