Growth forms Epiphyte, erect or patent, 20-30 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem branched, when young compressed, becoming thinly cylindrical when older, proliferously leafed, entirely covered by leaf-sheaths. Leaf linear, erect-patent or subpatent, carnose, glabrous; apex obliquely obtuse; lamina 2-3.5 cm long, 0.2-0.25 cm wide; sheath tight clasping, with sparsely transverse warts, shiny; apex toothed, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe elliptic, apiculate, cucullate-clasping, sparsely punctate outside; floral bracts thin, transparent, 0.5 cm long. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal oblong, obtuse with minute apiculum, 0.7 cm long, 0.36 cm wide. Lateral sepals oblique, at base dilated along the front margin, decurrent, 0.68 cm long, 0.262 cm wide. Petal obliquely obovate, broadly obtuse, 0.7 cm long, 0.3 cm wide. Lip broadly ovate, 0.35 cm long, 0.3 cm wide; epichile obtuse; hypochile spurred; spur oblongoid, obtuse, 0.2 cm long, 0.15 cm wide. Column 0.17 cm long; clinandrium crenulate-dentate; stelidia not seen. Anther cucullate, obtuse projection, 0.20 cm long, 0.145 cm wide; rostellum not seen; pollinia 4, pear-shaped, 0.16 cm long; stigma not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 0.5 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology – Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 500-1000 m. Flowering in January and July in the wild.

Notes - 1. Flowers white, lip tip with fine green dots; anther yellow-brown.

2. The epithet verruculosa refers to the small warts of the leaf sheaths of the species (verrucose- means warts in Latin).
