Growth form Epiphyte, shrub-like, pendent, branched, many-leaved, more than 70 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem thinly cylindrical, proliferously leafed, entirely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf oblong or oblong-ligulate, subpatent; apex unequally 2-lobed, both lobes obtuse; lamina 2-3 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide; sheath tight clasping, densely warty; apex toothed, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe obtuse, hairy; floral bracts as long as the ovary, exceeding the spathe by half its length. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal ligulate, recurved, 1.6 cm long, apex obtuse, carnose. Lateral sepals oblique, at the base along the front margin somewhat dilated. Petal obliquely linear, obtuse, base narrowed, almost as long as the sepals. Lip broadly rhombic-suborbicular, apical half subcrenulate, 0.5 cm long, 0.55 cm wide; epichile obtusely weakly lobulated-apiculate; hypochile spurred; spur narrowly cylindrical, 1.5 cm long, obtuse, as long as and appressed the ovary. Column 0.4 cm long; clinandrium dorsally widened, denticulate, apiculate, passing into the spur; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; pollinia not seen; stigma not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary sessile, narrowly cylindrical, 1.5 cm long, glabrous. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology – Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1400-1500. Flowering season unknown.
Notes - 1. Flowers pale brown.
2. The epithet verrucosissima refers to the densely warty leaf sheaths of the species (verrucose- means warty in Latin).
