Glomera stolonifera Ormerod, Malesian Orchid J. 16:66(2015) –Type: F. Shaw Mayer s.n (holotype BM)
Growth form Epiphyte. Rhizome cylindrical, slender, elongate, rooting at nodes, 9-10 cm long, 0.03-0.05 cm wide. Roots cylindrical, 0.02-0.05 cm in diameter. Stem at base cylindrical, higher up compressed, 2-6-leaved in upper half, 2.3-6 cm long, 0.03-0.05 cm wide, across leaf sheaths 0.2-0.25 cm wide, internodes 2-4 mm long.. Leaf thinly carnose, oblong-lanceolate; apex subacute to obtuse; base shortly contracted for up to 0.2 cm long; lamina 0.8-2.7cm long, 0.3-0.45 cm wide; sheath compressed tubular, truncate, glabrous; apex without tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, subglobose, 2-7-flowered, when young covered by spathe. Spathe ovate, apex acute, 0.7 cm long, 0.5 cm wide; floral bracts not seen. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal ovate-elliptic, joined to lateral sepal for 1.9 mm long, 4.8 mm long, 2.5-2.8 mm wide, apex subacute, 3-nerved. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-elliptic, 0.65 cm long, 0.5 cm wide (0.33 cm along upper margin), front margin joined for 0.3 cm to form broadly ellipsoid covering over the spur, apex subacuminate, low carinate, 5-nerved. Petal ovate-elliptic, 0.4 cm long, 0.195 cm wide, apex obtuse, 3-nerved. Lip entire, ovate, 0.08 cm long, median thickened apex, joined to column for 0.08-0.1 cm; epichile acute; hypochile spurred; spur ellipsoid, 0.2 by 0.2 cm, 0.3 cm wide, apex obtuse . Column 0.18 cm long, with column foot; clinandrium ovate-deltate; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary clavate, 0.48 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea
Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Mt. Giluwe. Altitude 2225 m. Flowering time June in the wild.
