Growth form Epiphyte, slender, up to 80 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous. Stem much branched, filiform, very thin, thinly cylindrical, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths, internodes 0.25-0.3 cm long. Leaf narrowly linear, glabrous, carnose, with brown dots on both sides, 5-nerved; apex acute; base subpetiolate-narrowed; lamina 1-2.05 cm long, 0.075-0.14 cm in diameter; sheath tight, tubular, shiny, glabrous, punctate; apex toothed, with bristled margin, bristles 0.03-0.15 cm long. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe broadly elliptic, cucullate-clasping, punctate, glabrous, apex acute, apiculate, 1-nerved, 0.29 cm long, 0.23 cm wide; floral bracts elliptic, thin, transparent, punctate, glabrous, apex acute, apiculate, 1-nerved, 0.22 cm long, 0.15 cm wide. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal ligulate-oblong, apex narrowly obtuse, 0.3 cm long. Lateral sepals subfalcate-triangular, apex subapiculate, base distinctly dilated along the front margins, latter cohering, 3-nerved, 0.25 cm long, 0.15 cm wide. Petal obliquely oblong-spathulate, apex obtuse, 1-nerved at base, 4-nerved in higher parts, with silver spots, 0.3 cm long, 0.09 cm wide. Lip subquadrate-ovate, 5-nerved, 0.15 cm long, 0.13 cm wide; epichile minutely obtusely subapiculate, with brown glands on the tip and beneath; hypochile spurred; spur conical, dorsally depressed, apex obtuse, 0.13-0.18 cm long. Column curved, 0.11 cm long; clinandrium triangular, lobulate; stelidia not seen. Anther suborbicular-cucullate, somewhat umbonate, ascending, obtuse, glabrous; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium absent. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 3-ribbed, punctate, 0.25-0.32 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution - Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Kaiser-Wilhelmsland. Altitude 900-2800 m. Flowering in April, June, September and October in the wild.

Notes -  1. The color of the flowers has not been recorded.

2. The epithet  dependens refers to the hanging loose habit of the branches (dependens means hanging in Latin).
