Growth form Epiphyte, erect, branched. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous. Stem thinly cylindrical, compressed, proliferously leafed, completely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf oblong or oblong-elliptic, patent, carnose, coriaceous; apex unequally 2-lobed, both lobes obtuse; lamina 0.8-1.3 cm long, 0.3-0.5 cm wide; sheath tight, densely warty, up to 0.8 cm long; apex toothed, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe elliptic, apiculate, cucullate-clasping, minutely warty; floral bracts  thin, transparent, similar to spathe but smaller. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal linear-ligulate, apex obtuse, 1.7 cm long, 0.25 cm wide. Lateral sepals oblique, narrowly obtusely acuminate, base extended, fused along the front margin, with column foot and the claw of the lip forming a filiform, subacute, 1.7 cm long spur, 1.29 cm long, 0.32 cm wide. Petal obliquely linear, narrowly obtuse, glabrous, as long as the sepals, 1.52 cm long, 0.21 cm wide. Lip broadly rhombic, 0.6 cm long, 0.6 cm wide; epichile indistinctly 3-lobed, in middle with indistinct, curved keels; hypochile spurred; spur filiform, 1.8 cm long, entirely fused with sepals. Column glabrous, with column foot, 0.30 cm long; clinandrium well developed; stelidia not seen. Anther subquadrate-cucullate, glabrous, dorsally with two obtuse swellings, in front broadly obtuse, ascending, 0.49 cm long, 0.43 cm wide; rostellum erect, bilobulate; stigma very broad; pollinia 4, obliquely obovoid; viscidium single. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 1.07 cm long. Capsule not seen.

Distribution – Papua New Guinea.

Habitat and Ecology –  Epiphyte in montane forest. Altitude 1100 m.  Flowering in January in the wild.

Notes -  1. Flowers olive-green.

2. The epithet sepalosiphon refers to the pipe-shaped lateral sepals of the species (sepala- means sepal and -siphon means pipe in Latin)
