Glomera kuperensis Ormerod, Malesian Orchid J. 16:63(2015) –Type: R. Hӧft 3602 (holotype A)
Growth form Epiphyte. Rhizome not seen. Roots not seen. Stem at base cylindrical, higher up subcylindrical, 2-3-branched, 14 cm long, 0.25-0.42 cm wide across the leaf sheaths, branchlets 4.5-5.2 cm long. Leaf rigid, thinly leathery, patent to weakly erect, ovate-lanceolate, midnerve carinate below, internodes 0.2-1.1 cm long; apex acute to subacute; lamina 1-2.3 cm long, 0.6-0.9 cm wide; sheath tubular, obliquely truncate to truncate, glabrous, weakly striate when dry; apex without tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, semiglobose, many-flowered, 1.5 cm long, 2-2.3 cm wide, when young covered by spathe. Spathe not seen; floral bracts not seen. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal elliptic, lower margins joined to lateral sepal for 0.25 cm, 0.69 cm long, 0.32 cm wide, apex subacute-obtuse, 4-nerved. Lateral sepals oblong-elliptic to elliptic, 0.7 cm long, 0.32-0.35 cm wide, apex subacute, 2-3-nerved, base forms synsepal subquadrate, narrowly retuse, 0.6 cm long, 0.67 cm wide that form 0.2 cm long conical and obtuse enclosure over the spur. Petal oblong-subrhombic, 0.64 cm long, 0.29 cm wide, apex obtuse, 3-nerved. Lip entire, subquadrate, joined to column for 0.07 cm, 0.29 cm long, 0.29 cm wide,5-7-nerved; epichile broadly obtuse; hypochile spurred; spur broadly conical-oblongoid, 0.18 mm long, 0.2 mm wide, apex obtuse. Column 0.2 cm long, with column foot; clinandrium lanceolate, subacute; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary clavate, 0.59 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea
Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Mt. Kolorong, Kuper Range. Altitude 2050 m. Flowering time May in the wild.
