Glomera brassii Ormerod, Malesian Orchid J. 16:57(2015) –Type: L.J. Brass 24802 (holotype AMES)
Growth form Epiphyte. Rhizome short, ligneous, 0.1-0.25 cm long. Roots cylindrical, wiry, 0.03-0.1 cm thick. Stem approximate, cylindrical, straight to weakly flexuous, usually laxly branching (branchlets 2.8-11.5 cm long) 12.5-31.2 cm long by 0.1-0.25 cm wide, internodes 0.7-1.3 cm long. Leaf slightly leathery, oblong to narrowly oblong-ligulate; apex unequally 2-lobed, both obtuse; base shortly contracted; lamina 1.2-3.1 cm long, 0.3-0.6 cm wide; sheath tubular, obliquely truncate, with transversely smooth low warts; apex with tooth, with glabrous margin. Inflorescences terminal, subglobose, densely many-flowered, 1 by 1.5 cm, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe not seen; floral bracts not seen. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal oblong, 0.675 cm long, 0.275 cm wide, apex subacute-obtuse, 3-nerved. Lateral sepals obliquely oblong-oblanceolate, 0.7 cm long, 0.24-0.26 cm wide, base forming synsepal obovate-elliptic, minutely bilobes, 0.7 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, enclosing over spur 0.28 cm long. Petal obovate-cuneate, 0.58 cm long, 0.31 cm wide, apex obtuse, 3-nerved. Lip entire, subquadrate, 7-nerved, 0.2 cm long, 0.2 cm wide; epichile truncate; hypochile spurred; spur retrorse, obliquely ellipsoid, 0.18 cm long, 0.1 cm wide, apex obtuse. Column short, 0.14 cm long, with column foot; clinandrium deltate-lanceolate, apex acute; stelidia not seen. Anther not seen; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary clavate, 0.5 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest of Goodenough island, east slopes. Altitude 1600 m. Flowering time October in the wild.
