Growth form Epiphyte, erect or spreading, slender, 18-30 cm high. Rhizome 2-3 mm in diamater. Roots filiform, long, flexible, glabrous. Stem simple to few branched, densely leafed, slender, flexible, slightly compressed, completely covered by leaf sheaths, internodes 0.8-1.1 cm long. Leaf erect-patent, lanceolate-linear, glabrous, carnose; apex unequal 2-lobed; base subpetiolate-contracted; lamina 1.2-2.7 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide; sheath tight, sparsely warty, striate; apex toothed, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe tight, with nerved, apex obtuse; floral bracts not seen. Flowers upside-down, glabrous. Median sepal oblong, apex obtuse, apiculate, 1.6 cm long. Lateral sepals oblique, base anterior margin widened, decurrent . Petal subunguiculate-cuneate, suborbicular, apex obtuse, 1.7 cm long, sepals wider. Lip suborbicular, spoon-shaped-concave, 0.4 cm long, 3.5 mm wide; epichile apiculate; hypochile spurred; spur filiform, apex slightly 2-lobed, 1.3 cm long. Column short, glabrous, 0.3 mm long; clinandrium not seen; stelidia not seen. Anther widely cucullate, apex obtuse, glabrous; rostellum not seen; stigma not seen; pollinia not seen; viscidium not seen. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 1.3 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology - Epiphyte in montane forest in Kaiser Wilhelms-mountains. Altitude 1200 m. Flowering in May in the wild.
Notes - 1. Flowers white with gold anther.
2. The epithet adenandroides refers to resembling Adenandra, a South African genus of Rutaceae
