Growth form Epiphyte, erect, shrubby, branched, up to 60 cm high. Rhizome not seen. Roots filiform, flexible, glabrous. Stem compressed, proliferously leafed, entirely covered by leaf sheaths. Leaf obliquely oblong-ligulate, erect-patent, glabrous, coriaceous; apex unequally 2-lobed, both lobes obtuse; lamina 1.7-3.5 cm long, 0.6-0.8 cm wide; sheath tight clasping, densely warty; apex toothed, with bristled margin. Inflorescences terminal, one-flowered, erect, when young enveloped by a spathe. Spathe cucullate-clasping, apiculate, outside minutely warty; floral bracts thin, transparent, similar to the spathe. Flowers upright, glabrous. Median sepal ligulate, minutely apiculate, outside sparsely punctate, 1.8 cm long, 0.33 m wide. Lateral sepals at base dilated along the front margin, decurrent, 1.53 cm long, 0.5 cm wide. Petal sublinear-ligulate, apiculate, oblique, above the middle dilated along the front margin, glabrous, 2 cm long, 0.33 cm wide. Lip broadly rhombic, 0.7 cm long, 1 cm wide, glabrous, margins clasping the column; epichile obtuse; hypochile with a median keel which is dilated towards the apex, spurred; spur cylindrical, obtuse, 1.6 cm long, appressed to the ovary. Column glabrous, 0.6 cm long, with column foot; clinandrium large, semiorbicular, apex obtusely 3-lobulate; stelidia not seen. Anther broadly cucullate, in front ascending, dorsally obtusely umbonate, glabrous, 0.4 cm long, 0.33 cm wide; rostellum not seen; pollinia 4, semioblongoid, oblique, 0.26 cm long; stigma not seen; viscidium single, rounded, quite broad. Ovary cylindrical, glabrous, 1.6 cm long. Capsule not seen.
Distribution – Papua New Guinea.
Habitat and Ecology – Epiphyte in upper montane forest. Altitude 2300 m. Flowering season unknown.

2. The epithet viridis refers to the green color of the flower of the species (viridis means green in Latin).
